Jillian Haslam is an Anglo-Indian girl (born in India to English parents) in post-colonial India. Jillian has written a book, Indian.English about her harrowing yet ultimately redemptive story of living in the dark squalid by-lanes of Calcutta.

Anglo-Indian MLA Nominations 2013

July 11, 2013.  The Anglo-Indian community has recommended four names to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for choosing a candidate for nomination to the Legislative Assembly from the Anglo-Indian quota.

As per the constitutional provision, an Anglo-Indian has to be nominated to the Assembly to give political representation to this microscopic minority community that in the State.

The four are: Dunstan Smith (an educationist from Bellary), B.C. Vaz (former principal of St. Joseph’s College of Commerce-Bangalore), Lambert Nunes (Youth Congress leader from Belgaum) and Creswell Weightman (youth leader and social worker).
